Vauterhill is situated amongst the rolling hills of North Devon. The stud was originally established by Mr Frank Heal (pictured below on the right) over 70 years ago, but moved to Vauterhill 40years ago where Graham has built and expanded on his father's expertise.
The aim of the stud is to provide mare owners with good class stallions at reasonable prices well within the budgets of most small breeders.
Our keep charges are kept to a minimum. Mares have access to over 200 acres of good clean pasture, grazed intermittently with sheep but can alternatively board in traditional stables around a central courtyard.
In recent years Vauterhill has been standing primarily National Hunt stallions. Vauterhill is currently the home of Sans Frontieres, Nutan, Top Trip and Dream Eater. Vauterhill also stands Urkel on the Sports Horse side of the business.
West Ridge Equine provide us with excellant veterinary care. Both Gordon Sidlow and Hannah Dennis are dedicated stud vets who give an approachable, experienced service whilst utilising the latest technology.
